spring has sprung here in minnesota (knock on wood)! i feel like it's safe to say that , nope, i'm not even going to jinx us like that. forget it. all i know is that today the sun is shining and that makes me happy!! (garage sale season, here we come!)

caribou has this promotion that every time the twins win, you can get a medium coffee for $1. and, if you bring your own mug in, you get $.50 off your bill. embarrassingly, i wasn't thinking about all of this when i went to get my coffee this morning, and had to use my credit card to pay a $.55 bill. oops! oh well, i guess money is money, right?

new loves and old friends: should they stay or should they go?

one of the great things about nora and i running a vintage pop-up store is the freedom to shop. i can buy cute clothes at any point for myself, without even trying them on, because i know if i don't like them for me, i can always give them to the shop. of course i want them to look cute on me, but this doesn't always happen. having said this, i need your opinion. i went shopping last night and found these adorable jeans. i am torn. they are so cute, and i want to give them to two birds, but i also want to keep them. so i'm going to let you decide. i already know they are cute...that is not the question. the question is, are they cute for me, or should they be cute for another it's a date customer?

tuesday remix

wow. i has been a while since i have done the remix. we did the two birds remixes (here and here) for a couple of weeks. and then megan took over with her lovely remix while i was out of town. i'll admit, it was actually a nice little break. but it was really fun to get back to it! especially since i recently acquired some new clothes! this week's item is brand new to my wardrobe. it is a pretty floral blouse from forever 21. the floral pattern looks a bit like a watercolor painting which really drew me to the shirt. i love the blues and greens. the shape and the sheerness of the shirt caught my eye, too. it is a great piece to dress up as well as just throw on for a casual day. i think it will be a real wardrobe staple this spring and summer.

inspiration monday: high-waist not, want not

happy monday, all! i hope your weekends were fantabulous. eva and i went to a mommy/daughter tea party on sunday and it was so fun. we ate homemade popovers and cucumber sandwiches and eva got to wear her very best high-tea dress. i wore what i thought was going to be my inspiration monday outfit to the party, and after i saw pictures of the outfit, i decided that i needed to never wear these specific jeans again. some bodies just weren't made for super wide-leg jeans, and i will concede that i am one of them. so after a few changes and a few photo shoots later, here's what i came up with. i  love high-waisted pants...i think i just need to find some that are not so loose and/or wide legged. but i do have these vintage pants, and i won't get rid of them. they are a perfect pair of pants that fit me just right in the waist, and just for that reason, i love them.

chris always takes one last picture of me when i think we are done. it usually ends up as a picture of me walking towards him, holding my hand out for the camera. he thinks it's funny. today i beat him to the punch and belted out my best kissy face.
